A Page From My Sketchbook

I haven't posted very much lately, but it is not because I haven't been busy. It is because I have been working and working on
Karen Ruane's Alchemy class!
The new piece is coming along and so is the sketchbook that goes with it. I was not happy with any of the paper in my various sketchbooks, but then I remembered I had "made" some papers from layers of magazine pages, stitched, gessoed and painted. I got those out and they are just right for this project. Then of course, I had to make some more pages......

Storage Container

Isn't this cool? I read about using these bamboo steamers for storage containers in Martha Stewart's Living. I bought this one new, but I think I will look around for them in the thrift stores. I meant to use it for projects as I like to have all the things for a given project together in a tray or a basket, but the Pearl Cotton fit in there so nicely. The next one will be for projects.....

Pockets

Hanging Pockets
A way for me to use my extra embroidered pieces!
An idea I liked from Linda and Laura Kemshall's web site.

The first and hopefully the last.....

If you follow me on Facebook, you have already read about this exciting New Years' day event, so just move on to something else. I won't mind.

I am sorry to say, I have done it again. Late New Year's day, I took some towels out to the garage and the mat by the door slipped out from under me. I landed on the concrete garage floor, with my head just inches from bumper of the pick up truck. I slammed my head on the floor and my tailbone. A grapefruit sized lump popped up on the back of my head and I felt a bit woozy so we went to the ER. A surprisingly quick trip. No serious damage, but I have to stay close to home and rest. No problem there. I hurt all over! It has been two years since I broke my neck. I was almost getting cocky! What a way to start the New Year......but perhaps I have had my accident for the year---early!

Happy New Year. You all stay safe and happy!!!
